C. William Hinnant, Jr. MD JD DABU FCLMBill Hinnant is a native Andersonian and graduated from the Anderson public schools. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Clemson University with a degree in Molecular Biology later receiving his MD degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. There, he was class representative to the American Medical Student Association and was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed a residency in urological surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and is Board-certified in adult and pediatric urology. Bill later attended law school at the Georgia State University College of Law where he was a finalist in the Georgia State Moot Court Competition and received a class award in Advanced Legal Research. He is a Fellow of the American College of Legal Medicine serving as its associate counsel and chairman of its Amicus and Ethics Committees.

Bill has authored Amicus Briefs on behalf of the Semmelweis Society, the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, the Alliance for Patient Safety, and the American College of Legal Medicine. Likewise he has authored regulatory comments on behalf of many of these organizations as well as the Los Angeles County Medical Association. He has argued appellate matters in multiple jurisdictions in Federal and State Court and is admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.

Bill’s primary interest include medical malpractice and professional liability litigation, peer review and credentialing litigation, healthcare antitrust and fraud and abuse litigation, product law and drug litigation, white-collar crime, administrative law including Medical Board matters, workers’ compensation and social security disability. Bill and his wife, Virginia, have four children all of whom are either in college or professional school. His personal interests include sports, travel, hunting, fishing, classic movies, reading, theater and cooking.
